When it comes to planning out marketing steps to be able to promote a new upcoming artist/band there can be many ways or strategies to do. The purpose in finding the correct audience is to help with the sales go up. In order to find the right target audience collecting data is an important factor to it. When researching about certain audiences you should think about location, gender, and age. The target audience that would fit best with an artist/band is an audience that would be constantly be supporting the artist. The most important thing to be prepared about is the competition that comes with promoting an artist. There will be other companies trying to promote other artists to be able to make them known and distract your audience meaning you'd lose some of your artists audience.
After setting up the first part of the marketing plan the second thing would be setting up the artists/ band social media platforms. Setting up the media platforms has almost the same concept as finding the target audience. There has to be research done on what audience uses specific social media, how many people are active in the country on that platform, and what that audience enjoy seeing on that platform. For example, when it comes to Instagram and twitter those platforms tend to have a younger teenage audience and on the other hand Facebook has a older audience. Setting up social media accounts for upcoming artists/bands help them be able to promote their music freely and in a quick manner.
Scheduling venues and performances comes in handy when the arts/band would want to be put out into the world more. Festivals are effective and important ways that someone could participate in to be able to promote their music. Although performances are not the most effective way to promote an artist, it still puts them on the spot and on headlines. Performances and festivals are posted all throughout social media, television, posters, and billboards etc. With artist being promoted in that way it can increase their sales, streams, and audience.
When it comes to promoting music in the marketing industry there could be a few challenges. It is not always easy to make an upcoming artist/band become well known in just a moment. It comes with a hit or miss.
